Do you love dancing and feel the urge to move every time you hear a rhythm, but feel too shy to express yourself? Or maybe you have just started dancing and feel intimidated by how advanced many dance events in Vienna seem to be?
Island Vibez provides a safe, non-judgemental space where all dancers are welcome. No matter your experience or skills, feel free to move your body, let loose and go wild! Let the rhythm enter your body and forget about what others might think for a moment. Feel the freedom that has always been inside you.
Make new friends
You don’t have anyone you can go dancing with? Maybe you are new in Vienna and don’t know many people yet? No worries, at Island Vibez you will find new friends easily.
We are a growing international family of like-minded people who share our love for the music and the dance. We dance, explore and laugh together, while undergoing a mutually beneficially exchange. At Island Vibez you can meet new friends and reconnect with old ones in a safe space where everyone is welcome.

Learn the energetic moves of Dancehall, express your liveliness through salsa or become a hip swing pro in Bachata. Connect with your body and with others through dance, enter new horizons.
At Island Vibez it is not about becoming a professional dancer who knows all the steps in this world, it’s about learning how to flow with the music and become comfortable on the dance floor.
Due to their moving history Caribbean dances are very powerful and always cultural. Island Vibez always intents to honor their roots and historical contexts.

What is Island Vibez?
Island Vibez is a regular dance event happening in Vienna, centering around music and dance styles from the Caribbean/Latin America which are being neglected in the dance scene of Vienna (for example Bachata Dominicana). Our goal is to create an event that allows you to connect with others and makes you feel like you are in your favorite Latin or Caribbean country.

Happy people, a sense of togetherness, a room filled with riddim. Chilled vibes, love and laughter. At Island Vibez we dance the night away and honor the moment because that’s all we have. We are here to celebrate ourselves, our community and the music which gives us so much life.
(Re)discover your femininity/masculinity
Sensuality is an important part of who we are. However, sometimes we lose connection to our own bodies or we don’t find the right space and time to express our feminine/masculine side. Or we feel too ashamed, or maybe we even think that we don’t have any sensual side. Caribbean dancing allows you to (re)discover that side of yours in a playful way.
The team
Theres (founder/organizer)
Theres has been a passionate dancer since she is 17 years old. She started with Dancehall, discovered Soca later on in her life and in 2022 she fell in love with Latin music and dance. She is traveling to the Caribbean and Latin America on a regular basis, visiting destinations such as Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia and México.
Her goal with Island Vibez is to bring the “island feeling”, which she misses a lot when she is in Europe, to Vienna, as Austrian society can feel a little uptight and cold sometimes. She uses the knowledge and experiences she was able to make on her journeys to make Island Vibez as authentic as possible. She wants her party guests to get a feeling for the culture and the music.
